1What we do
Meepleton reviews digital board games and tabletop-style video games for players and families in the UK. We only write about games we have played through, across many evenings, and every review gives the players, a typical playing time, how a turn goes, where the game ends, who can talk to you, what it sells once you are playing, comfort notes and who it is for.
2Why a games table?
Because board games already know how to end. A box says how long a game takes, the rules say when it is over and everyone helps pack away. Screens rarely say any of that, so we put it back: every review marks the game end, and the house-rules card agrees it before anyone sets up.
3Who writes the reviews
A small team of long-time players of both cardboard and digital games, from family games and puzzles to long strategy evenings, together with parents who set up the family controls on every platform we mention.
4How the site is paid for
Not by anyone in the games business. There are no adverts, affiliate links, sponsored reviews or products for sale. We host no games, run no accounts and take no payments.
5Conflicts of interest
If a reviewer has a personal or professional link to a game or studio, someone else reviews it and the review says so. We accept no gifts, trips or early access in exchange for coverage.
6The artwork
Every box front is an original illustration made for Meepleton in that game’s own visual style: watercolour for one, flat storybook colour for another, pixel art for a third. None of it is official artwork, a screenshot or a real person. Our meeple emblem is our own.
7Why UK English?
British spelling, UK age labels and UK support services. No pop-ups, no autoplaying video or sound and no tracking.
